ELVIS PRESLEY DIED 35 YEARS AGO TODAY

Here at Doc40, we only really mark the death of Elvis in passing. We celebrate the man on his birthday – January 8th. Today, however, The Guardian has reprinted my 1977 cover obituary from the NME.Click here.

It's all been said, and a deal better, but there was indeed a sense of otherness about him (and isn't 1:30 a great moment?). It looks like he was teleported down from Mars. Not from Gale Crater, mid you.

Brilliant Mick I have carried that line about entering the Army and never returning for all those years whenever I see or read about Elvis
