I am fairly certain that the underground press hacks were invited to a Lucifer record launch at the Carlton (was it?) Hotel. This would have been 1971/2. I remember there was unlimited free booze and not long after arrival I was completely wasted. Don't remember the band even being there.
PS It wasn't the Carlton, it was Claridges.
