I call it football (in my case American Football) mentality. the fans are rabid and associated themselves with everything the team does, but actually contribute nothing to the victory. Yet they revel in it with total abandon. I understand revenge at a personal level--not at a national one. But those of us with our eyes open know this will not really affect Al Qaeda or its goals.
