My friends in the US know why I came home. I think they sensed the madness of the wind before I did.

That wasn't enough. I half-expected the next contender to be a lung-fish draped in the Stars and Stripes. But it wasn't anything so sophisticated. Enter stage (far) right Donald Trump, the bewigged billionaire who has filled America with phallic symbols and plastered his name across more surfaces than the average Central Asian dictator. CNN's polling suggests he is the most popular candidate among Republican voters. It's not hard to see why. Trump is every trend in Republican politics over the past 35 years taken to its logical conclusion. Now that the birthers have lost their grail, what will the Donald focus on next? Trump is the perfect republican. He is reich egotistical, unencumbered but the truth or by logical thought. He's proven he can ruin a business that is normally a license to steal (his casino), and he already has a television show.
Mick, I think the republicans keep turning up more degenerate life forms to carry the banner is that the more intelligent ones can no longer keep a straight face and spout the official nonsense.
I think I'll reread Alice In Wondrland to give myself a proper logical perspective.
I think I'll run. I'm an Aleleeinn but I was born in the U S of A. That should confuse the things. I recall no mention of species as a presidential requirement for being president.
Aleleeinn, Trump is now on to Obama's grades. Wants to see them to prove Obama 'deserved' to go to Yale & Harvard. He does keep ratcheting up the racism. Of course that will just endear him to the Republican base od scared white people.
Trump's ability is in persuading other people to finance his operations: property development, presidential campaigning. He has no chance as a candidate and knows it. But he'll make a fortune from the media publicity. Palin similarly.
I think you're probably right, but you never know. At the start of 2000 we thought Bush was a joke.
