Brilliant. Many years ago I was dating a literature professor who was also the mother of two little boys. We used to take the boys to see things like Godzilla movies. Their mom introduced me to concepts like subtexts and we would have long discussions about Godzilla movies as indicators of Japanese social and political anxieties. It is only right to attribute subtlety and layered meaning to Godzilla's actions.
"The depth of his loneliness." Once again we confront the ambiguity of Godzilla's gender. Most of the time Godz is refered to as "he", but let's not forget that he may well have laid and egg.

My day has been made! The link above introduced me to the word, "Godzillae", the plural of Godzilla.
