OUR WHACKY AUNT AYN

Aunt Ayn is confident that traffic lights are only for the huddled masses of the stupid.

I think the most glaring error in Rand's philosophy of capitalism is that she entirely leaves out imperialism and its distorting effects on any attempt to fix capitalism on firm ground in order to argue for its superiority to other systems. Even Adam Smith knew that the powerful, who make the rules, will tilt the system to their benefit.

But aren't the people really kinda stupid? I mean, they refuse to read books and they can't see that we are as bad as any nation in terms of military aggression, they think people should be in prison for drugs, they celebrate predatory capitalists as heroes, they worship "Jesus," etc. Stupid or evil, one. Maybe I'm biased, as I live in the South . . .
