STOP KILLING US YOU BASTARDS

37 wolves had been slaughtered since the Bush Administration stripped them of their endangered species protection in March. Now a terrible new milestone has been reached: 106 wolves have been killed in the past 118 days. That's close to one wolf killed every day. And if Wyoming, Idaho and Montana have their way, at least 900 wolves -- nearly 60 percent of the population -- could be exterminated this fall, when a massive public hunt begins. Make no mistake: This will be the very last summer for many of Yellowstone's wolves -- unless immediate action is taken to stop the killing. Tourists visiting Yellowstone have been horrified to learn that the very wolves they've traveled hundreds and thousands of miles to see are being gunned down just outside the park. Hundreds of tourists a day are signing petitions to protest the slaughter. The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC), is circulating those petitions in the park and taking court action -- along with 11 other conservation groups -- to compel the Bush Administration to restore protection for the wolves. This administration is the lowest of the low. No contest.

Mick,

Your link doesn't go to the petition page. this is the one that does:

I live in wolf country. The mentality of some of these ranchers and/or hunters often has me wishing i could shoot one of 'em a day (betterment of the planet and all that), but of course I'd never do it. Wouldn't want to be that much like 'em.

The error has been rectified.

Hey, Kass, couldn't you shoot maybe just six of seven of them. We could have a collection for the ammunition.

Oops. That should be six OR seven...

Anonymous,

A tempting offer. Six or seven, huh? I'll consult with my conscience.

Meanwhile, send ammunition money by all means. Mick can hold it in escrow, and use at his discretion if I (ahem) bail.
