Good review. Gets at the basics of why we love vampire stories. I was asleep at 10:30 last night. Awakened by celebratory gunfire at 12:00. Got up early for a dawn walk. Everything was glistening white, covered in hoarfrost. The rising sun was an absolutely lurid orange. It was the strangest landscape I've ever walked through. Just to prove I'm not really a morning person, I went back to bed for two hours. (after the frost melted) Good start to the new year.
