DOC'S PAPERBACK CLASSIC'S # 28

And this Astounding cover was making pretty much the same point twelve years earlier than Bob. We still stall on making the choice.

I have a poster-sized unique print of a C. Bonestell image that appeared on the cover of Harper' s
It was taken from a 4x5" slide that was taken from the original, the original being owned by a private and undisclosed collector here in California.
And it is frightening: LES is in the moment of being destroyed by a nuclear device; Queens is seven seconds into obliteration and midtown is a half-second into hell.
Unfortunately, it is a print that is nearly impossible to find with respect to a reproduction beyond a 2004 edition of Village Voice and a 1950 edition of Harper's.
Had to ramble; the SF cover on this bit prompted me.

Thought no-one would ever ask. (I keep the print in storage, but will next week see to getting a shot of my six-foot-four scary self holding it, to exhibit the scale of the print.)
