DOC'S PAPERBACK CLASSIC'S # 20

Why does looking at this make me immediately think of Dick Cheney. Like an “origin” episode in which he stows away on the spaceship, eats the crew, assumes human form when he reaches Earth and…
(And the only way we know he’s not human is that he can’t shoot straight.)

Now do you understand the significance of the man-sized safe?

And I mean REAL anonymous

Christ have you two nailed it!
It's perfect... eerily so.

"The Black Destroyer" - wasn't that one of Cheney's nickname in kindergarden?

(other names included "Evil Dickie" and "The Thing")

--and in a totally unrelated event: someone send me a link to a Dylan radio show spoof:
http://dylanshrine.podomatic.com/

it's called Dyl-Time Theme Radio Hour and it's done by an old fella called Mel Prussack, which is the self-proclaimed curator of the Dylan Shrine. He speaks of the Bob Myth and plays mostly (if not only) Dylan's live performances.

weird but good,
Mark Haspam

ps: Kass, make sure you get Jodowrosky's "El Topo" and "The Holy Mountain." Cheerio!

and speaking of the Bob - Lou Reed's interviews should come in second place in the list, right after Dylan's mighty clashes with the media in das 60s.

Just recently found a great one that comes really close to Lester Bangs' descriptions of the ol' Death Dwarve (hey, another Cheney nickname!)

-If you haven't seen this yet:

it's a 1974 Lou Reed live performance in his 'junky fag' era - skip to minute 4:00 and watch the interview. He says the most hillarious and outrageous lies with a stone-cold serious face and with that kind of casual andy warhol-like autistic distance. Needless to say, the journalists only want to know about drugs and sex, and Lou just keeps throwing shit in their eyes with a candid "who, me?" expression.

priceless.

-do you sing about drugs because you want people to take drugs?
-oh yeah, i want them to take drugs.
-why is this?
(pause...)
-because it's better than monopoly.

high on life,
Mk H.

I can attest that drugs are definitely better than Monopoly.
