Some of the women who regularly read Doc40 have expressed a certain disapproval with recurrent posts that feature scantily clad, or even, at times, naked young women. One very good friend of the blog even went to so far as to call these posts “pornography”, although after some debate, during which I became a tad indignant, we compromised on the term “cheesecake” but she still wasn’t happy. Unfortunately as Dark Prince of this domain, although not wishing to offend feminine sensibilities, I really don’t intend to cease publishing classic pinups, retro-bikini girls, sex kittens (with or without whips), and pulp fiction lesbians, but, when this still of Marlon Brando with his shirt off arrived synchronously from HCB – a reference to my Brando essay (see last Thursday) – I hoped its posting might do something to redress the balance.

I'll take him any way you want to dish him up, but realize that the previous photo you had on the site, with T-shirt worn in the more standard way (i.e. not on his head) is sexier by far.
So much for the idea that scantily-clad equals anything per se.
The classic/retro/sex kitten covers on this site have the same effect on me as the smoking doctor below. They are cultural history and the response I have is... Wow. That's what I grew up believing? being exposed to? No wonder I'm fucked up!
I see it as 1) a service to consciouness raising; 2) the blog host's right (as already pointed out); 3) fun -- nostalgia wise. They are way too corny to get het up about.
Personally, I see political correctness as a very slippery thing. Like religion, it does at least as much harm as good. There is a lot of confusion these days about freedom of speech, which we seem too ready to sacrifice for the sometimes self-rightgeousness of being PC.
Cheesecake? Why not. I put some beefcake shots on my own site, and I feel more justified in doing that now.
I've always admired the octopus-on-babe pulp covers you put up.
I agree with Kass Brando looked hotter in the first photo.
Plenty of balls in that picture.
