MONDAY READIN'
I have been a Gore Vidal fan as long as I can remember, and his latest take on George Bush indicates that he’s far from flagging...
"So here we are, in the middle of the unfinished Iraq tragedy, and the President, in his inaugural address, is serenely declaring war on the rest of the world. Instead of talking about how the hell we get out of Iraq and Afghanistan, we are talking about going into Iran."
And here’s the rest...

While Maureen Dowd in the NY Times has been discussing sex and torture, if you have a mind for it...
"A female military interrogator who wanted to turn up the heat on a 21-year-old Saudi detainee who allegedly had taken flying lessons in Arizona before 9/11 removed her uniform top to expose a snug T-shirt. She began belittling the prisoner - who was praying with his eyes closed - as she touched her breasts, rubbed them against the Saudi's back and commented on his apparent erection."

Plus a bunch of stuff on the sign of Satan and what is laughably called the first family...

AND FINALLY THE QUOTE OF THE DAY
"The death camps were created by men with a high opinion of themselves-some of them well-educated and possessed of refined manners-but without conscience. And, where there is no conscience, there is no tolerance towards others...no defense against evil...and no limit to the crimes that follow." – Dick fuckin’ Cheney at Auschwitz in his parka and wooly hat, I suppose proving that in addition to no conscience, he has no manners.

The secret word is Weimar
