Maybe a positive attitude can bring good fortune, although I’m not totally holding my breath. But there is some good news for a change and a couple of triumphs for the good guys. The hell-spawned Ugandan anti-gay bill with its provision for the death penalty has gone away at least for the moment.
“KAMPALA (Reuters) - A Ugandan bill that mandated the death penalty for gays who are "repeat offenders" appeared to have been shelved again on Friday when it was not debated in parliament after provoking an international outcry. Parliament speaker Edward Ssekandi dissolved the house on Friday and said there was not enough time to debate the bill. A new parliament is to be sworn in on Wednesday. "I think we expected that this would happen," an lawmaker who did not want to be named, told Reuters. "The pressure had been too much over the last two years. It had to disappear."
And the odious (but not actually hell-spawned) Donald Trump will not be running for President.
“Donald Trump has confirmed today he will not run for President in the 2012 election. The announcement comes one week after he fell from first placed candidate to tied fifth place among Republicans in a survey by the Public Policy Polling organisation. The 64-year-old real estate mogul kept America guessing for months over whether he would run for the 2012 Republican nomination, among intense media speculation. His statement was made as NBC unveiled its new primetime schedule to advertisers, which has intensified speculation that his whole campaign was a big publicity stunt.” (Image from MrMR)

Too bad.
I was hoping for a Trump/Palin or Palin/Trump ticket in 2012. Even many Republicans (I hope) couldn't have gone for that.
Careful Fred. That ticket would have made Richard Nixon seem like a choir boy when it came to lying. And we will not even touch the subject of logical thought.
No more trump, means my recurring nausea well subside for a while.
Well, the liberation movements of the 60s were never completed. BUT Mick, I agree it was good that the anti-gay bill disappeared. I hope is doesn't come back. But there are other countries with the same problem.
Damn! Who am I supposed to not vote for now?!
