"Dalek" sounds like the Norwegian word "dårlig", which means "bad" or "evil". (Wikipedia)

Quite an unintelligent explanation!
In our language 'dalek' literally
means 'far away'.
In the old times for someone coming from unknown country
(and screaming in strange languages words like
'hammer', 'sword', 'kill', 'exterminate', 'roast them' 'fuck'em all', etc.) people used to say 'iz daleka' (from far away).
Today some of us think the same meaning is the word 'global corporation'. They just come to fuck up everything; people, environment and tranquility.
So the secret word is 'Exterminate (them)'!

I used to own "The Dalek Pocketbook and Space Travellers Guide" when I was about eight - informative and useful when in the vicinity of Epsilon Eridani and you'd left the A-Z at home. Seem to remember that it said Dr Who's favourite food was Venusian night fish - helpful should he come round to dinner.

A Dalek currently resides here at Victory Mansions albeit a 12" remote control talking toy that prowls the hall and living room barking out orders while I prepare dinner or slump in my chair gripped by the latest Guinness induced stuper.
