Great article! Just the tip of the iceberg. For anyone who dug it, there's lots more in The Holographic Universe by Michael Talbot.

The orb went from green to yellow while I was reading and now appears to be going toward red. Fascinating. Today is 7-7-7. Keep tuned.

Naw. Actually that's a heat-sensible picture taken from a satellite used to evaluate the quantity of energy wasted in people's houses.

you see that blue globe in the middle? that's Al Gore's house.

Anonymous, you are a fool to whom nothing will be revealed.

Now he explains:

I think that the message mr Gore is spreading around is, of course, of the biggest urgency. That's why I think he's an evil motherfucker (pardon my french).

If he really KNEW how important his message was he would simply stay behind the camera and not present himself as the forgotten hero who marched bravely after being stomped by the "bad guys" who stole the election from him. He reappeared, dressed in black (the old "man in black" bit), warning us about this big danger looming over our heads.

Pure Hollywood.

If he really felt his message was important he would stay behind the cameras. Now matter how much he says: "this is not a political question" - the fact that it's a politician telling us that message is (sorry to pop your bubble, I know you want to believe) POLITICAL, whether he likes it or not.

And the message he has to say, should be heard by the all the fuckers who think differently (=republicans) and not by people that already know what he's talking about. So, what mr Gore did was to further separate the barricades, instead of uniting. What do you think a republican will think after seing Gore's movie?

Probably, that it's all a bunch of liberal lies set to distort the image of the republicans in power. And this is where mr Gore's "battle" is lost.

I didn't wake up for global warming because Al Gore made a movie. I was, in fact, quite alarmed, a few years earlier, like so many other people were.

Revelation doesn't cost the price of a movie ticket, luv. Unless, of course, it's a Jodorowski flick.

ps: of course the news that he spent too much energy in his house was a pure GOP dirty trick - but hey, even sometimes the meanies can be a reliable source of revelation.

pss: and while we're at it... Al Gore is not the only evil fucker - he's joined by all the "artists" who participated in the Live Earth mega festival. We are reaching a point where we'll be forced (by nature) to question our own life style as a culture. The culture of consumption and waste. Isn't it weird that the very worshipped gods of the consumming/wasteful culture are the ones who want to educate us?

Did they suddenly stop selling those little plastic things called cd's and all kinds of plastic merchandise crap? (and i'm not even mentioning all the products they help sell, like cellphones)

And, also, don't know if you noticed but suddenly, every fucking corporation, trademark and celebrity are all "green." Now, green is officially both the color of nature and money.

This isn't an attempt at resolution, this is just another attempt at MAKING MONEY. keep the industry running, erasing all ecological afflictions.

Am I the only anonymous who thinks this way?

sigh!

I think that what Julian Cope said of Bono is also appliable to mr Gore:

"The only reason I don't kill him is because I would go to jail and he would turn into a fucking martyr."

If a celebrity wants to help or contribute to any humanitarian or ecological cause they must do it BEHIND the cameras. simple.

Don't even dare to come with the "they are setting an example" speech... It's pure marketing. They create the image of "saviours" and "heroes" and we fall for it like dummies. ("we are the puppet people...")

again, I'm not against the message, I'm against the bloody messengers.

back to anonymousity now.
bye

The trouble with posting as anonymous is there are so many of you. Combined, it ends up coming across as this very schizo personality. Maybe you guys could (horrors) take numbers.... anon-1, 2, etc. to maintain continuity of expression.

That aside, anon above makes some good points about Gore's impact being diminished for those who knee jerk against him.

all the anonymous post here are from me, kass. Anonymous nº 3726.

had previously signed other comments as bradley the buyer, bob the seller...

and in some circuits people call me Priscilla, queen of the desert.

kidding,
anonymous nº 3726.

ps: i must confess that my first comment here was a deliberate attempt at creating a bit of the old ultra-polemics. Appy-polly-loggies for that. It's just that this sort of double-faced "Save the Earth" crap gives me pains in me gulliver. I think it simply defeats the purpose. Its hypocrite and makes me blood boil.

At least with the fascist industrialists we know where we stand - I think our lad, Micky, had previously said something in that line and I couldn't agree more.

Here's to all the honest bastards!

in a nut, I think that what Gore is doing is indeed political. I honestly believe that the democrats are progressively turning the global warming reality into a political weapon. Why shouldn't they? The opportunity is literally falling from the sky on to their laps.

And Gore is the lonely cowboy trying to warn the people of the world. Isn't he still a member of the democratic party?

In the same way that the Republicans have the "vote for us or you'll all die in a terrorist attack," the Democrats now have the "vote for us or the earth will swallow you."

I think it's unlikely that Gore runs for presidency - that would be too obvious. What is now obvious is that the Global Warming is generally a Democratic issue. And as soon as the effects of Global Warming start too affect reality (as they are already doing but it's only just the beginning), the Republicans will automatically turn into the bad guys.

And sure enough the GOP and the B. administration have already began trying to invert that - giving the appearance that global warming is an urgent topic in their agenda. yeah, right.

The biggest irony is that the earth will swallow us no matter who you vote on.

and it will probably have a violent indegestion.

This is all getting very confusing. As one anonymous said "take a number" or make up some daft fucking name from yourself like "Ruby Hitler" or something?

Anonymous said...

WHAT DO YOU MEAN "DAFT FUCKING NAME?"

15 comments ok with you?

now we have come across the anonymousity barrier... we all stand equally.

so, fellow commenters ,what is your take on herr Gore?

you left me all stranded here with a long role of typo-riddled, bile comments. And I begin to suspect that my paraphrasing mr Cope might lead some of you to warn the proper authorities.

boy, sure miss the dark conforts of anonymousity.

I see now that i'm re-reading what I wrote...

the fact that I wrote in the end of my 2nd post "Am I the only anonymous who thinks this way?" and then kept adding comments - you though it was a reply by a whole new pack of anonymous.

a whole army of agreeing anonymous people.

interesting... I've accidentaly created a monster.

or as Mr Burns would say: "Excelent..."

oh, and now at new light, Kass' commentary is suddenly full of fascinating new meanings for me:

now I'm certain that you will call the proper authorities.

and for the record, your honour
I didn't, in any circustance, wrote the following comments:

"Ruby Hitler said...

and

"Anonymous said...
He's a liar."

I rest my case and still waiting for someone to counter-comment or comment on the Gore affair. If not I have already wrote too much and might be ready to mark myself

Don't worry Mark. I've been going this shit for years and am still at liberty.

Unless, of course...

OK Mark,

here are a couple of comments re Gore/global warming.

(But first, my comment about the need to asign anon numbers because the combined anons come off as schizo referred to anon comments on many of Mick's posts over time, not just this one (largely you). There have been some super vitriolic ones as well as benign ones.)

Re Gore, first, here's a link to someone who thinks Gore isn't bothering to run because elections can no longer be conducted fairly in this country, so why bother. He can do more out of the system.
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/steven-weber/what-does-al-know-that-we_b_55352.html The writer is rather besotted w/ Gore, but otherwise he says some intersting things.

I don't think it matters much if the Gore/global warming thing is political or not because the focus is wrong. We are not going to respond in time even if Dems take it on or Repugs pretend to.

Whether you believe we caused it, as Gore's camp does, or you believe other factors cause it, as Alexander Cockburn and gang do -- see http://www.counterpunch.org/cockburn04282007.html -- the thing that should be addressed and isn't is how we are going to face it, because it's coming and no amount of carbon credit games and emission controls are gonna do it (tho' there are good reasons to do that as well, 'cause pollution -- global warming or not -- isn'i good for us either).

Anonymous said...

Right on, Kass!

yep. There's no way around that, Kass.

I ran off in a tangent there, because sincerely this kind of eco-opportunism makes me sick.

A hard rain's a-gonna fall, and this time it won't be a metaphorical one.

Nature's jihad is soon approaching.

Thanks for the links.

Mark,

Nature's jihad is the one jihad I can get behind. We're not all gonna make it, but personally, as long as the natural world, aka the planet, does, it's OK with me.

By the way, I just added 3 Jodorowskis to my Netflicks queue. Thanks!
