Concerning the dense treatise on paradox: I think that Zizek guy is sort of the pomo Lukacs and I never had any use for Lukacs either. One of my fave bizarre radical pamphlets of the '70's was published by the Chicago Surrealists, "On The Occasion of Georg Lukacs Dropping Dead-- Notes Toward the Demystification of the late Stalinist Mystic." There I go gettin' anti-intellectual on ya, but I swear, when certain types of lefty intellectuals get going the air of mystery is far thicker than anything ever generated by Hildegard of Bingen.
