Our good pal Faux Smoke, between arguing with Aeswiren about nuclear power, sent us the following comment about internet freedom.
“Big deal to me, internet becomes useless if our free access becomes restricted. Fucking Comcast was blocking torrent sites earlier this year & the new bandwidth caps have already knocked some people I know offline... things haven't exactly been peachy the way things have been going & it would be nice to see things play out in a favorable fashion as the new administration gets into office.”
He also includes
a link to a report on the latest government moves on internet freedom.
The secret word is
Access
CIA & NKVD & other idiotic agencies are watching everything.
ReplyDeleteBig brother will use every possible information to keep us In Control.
Funny motherfuckers!
The traffic on the internet is so vast, it would be impossible for any intelligence agency to actually monitor even a fraction of it. And why should they bother, when most of it's nonsense?
ReplyDeleteBandwith caps have been in effect with my ISP since the end of last year. Torrents are all but useless, and what was contracted into as "unlimited" useage is anything but. Add to this the fact that throttling on a week to week basis can be instated with no prior warning - or even belated e-mailed advice - and what you are left with is essentially an internet speed on a par with dial-up of old paid for at a premium rate.
ReplyDelete"The traffic on the internet is so vast, it would be impossible for any intelligence agency to actually monitor even a fraction of it. And why should they bother, when most of it's nonsense?"
ReplyDeleteIt should be that way but...
for them the information is POWER.
They use a net of powerful Big Brothers (something like Deep Blue for chess), spanned across
the world to have more power (like radio-telescopes for deep space) and then they filter just the interesting words and similar stuff. They can swallow
Internet traffic for a lunch (Let's hope they got a diarrhoea!)
So the normal reaction is:
WTF!
They are no less than a bunch of impotent sick skunks that try to make from this Earth the public toilette...
But it's just my opinion... in reality it's maybe even worst.

ReplyDeleteWhy? BUDGETS
At least we have a president who can work a Blackberry.
ReplyDeleteGit with it,and use Peer Guardian 2so you can travel to sites, and read and see without the man knowing what's up. The only snag I encountered is,that my email will not open when I have the peer guardian in the on mode. But it blocks my ip address, and it's amazing who it's blocking...the united arab banking whatnots, and chinese wizits, and a bunch more.(all whores!)Why do they need to know what I'm readin'?
ReplyDeleteThe peer guardian blinks when someone comes a tappin'.
You can turn it on and off at will. So far so good.
Now I have to get back to the bottlegging music.
I couldn't spell bootleg,my keyboard's screwy.
ReplyDeleteSorry Doc 40.
No need to be sorry. Here at Doc40 was are all in awe of your bootlegging. (Maybe "bottlelegging" means you subconsciously need a drink.)
ReplyDeleteHey, pepsi:
ReplyDeleteYou may have a president who can navigate his way around a Blackberry, but sadly he won't be permitted to take it with him into office.
Quite bizarre.
Yeah I need a drink.
ReplyDeleteI'm just passing the music along for fanatics. There's no use of glorifying what I do. I'm a music hound, and want others to discover it. And I just get happy from people's comments, because you don't know if you're on the right track, when you blog, and if people are digging it.
