The rules of robotics always bothered me. Even before I knew about hackers. I could think of no good reasons that some psycho wouldn't build a custom job to assure his/her power/fame/immortality. Of course the concept spells disaster, but humans with much better intention built the atomic bomb. I was talking to a sex android in an off-planet bar the other night and she reminded me that individual survival must be tied to some concept of ego. She told me about a lot of other things she could do, but I couldn't afford any of them, and several seemed to be fatal.
