STREEP AS ATTILA THE HEN
One part of my motivation for leaving the UK for New York back in 1979 was to get the hell away from Margaret bloody Thatcher. (Only to trade her for Ronald Reagan.) Now Meryl Streep has recreated her in all her lacquered horror. Click here.
Now I'm afraid. I've never been much of a fan of Streep. Subject matter and that turning a film into a personal cause no matter how irrational. BUT I did like her performance as Julia Child. IMHO it was so good I forgot it was Streep. I could go into shock if I accidentally saw Maggie on the TV as I passed through the channels. Actually Reagan might have the same effect.
