Charles Krauthammer is a right wing, neocon, blowhard who fancies himself as an intellectual, and to prove he’s a cut above Rush, he has a column in The Washington Post, maybe by some concept which gives equal space to the slavering lackeys of arcane corporations. (He’s also an unlovely motherfucker so we don’t need a picture.) What follows is Krauthammer’s vision of the “real” agenda of the Obama administration. And as I read it, I can only hug myself and sway, laughing with something near to hysteria. Oh if such was only true. If it was only true. If only the right could be close to right.
“Obama has far different ambitions. His goal is to rewrite the American social compact, to recast the relationship between government and citizen. He wants government to narrow the nation's income and anxiety gaps. Soak the rich for reasons of revenue and justice. Nationalize health care and federalize education to grant all citizens of all classes the freedom from anxiety about health care and college that the rich enjoy. And fund this vast new social safety net through the cash cow of a disguised carbon tax. Obama is a leveler. He has come to narrow the divide between rich and poor. For him the ultimate social value is fairness. Imposing it upon the American social order is his mission…The reordering of the American system will come not from these temporary interventions, into which Obama has reluctantly waded. It will come from Obama's real agenda: his holy trinity of health care, education and energy. Out of these will come a radical extension of the welfare state; social and economic leveling in the name of fairness; and a massive increase in the size, scope and reach of government. If Obama has his way, the change that is coming is a new America: "fair," leveled and social democratic.”
And talking of The Washington Post, click here to read this piece of scandal sent over by Munz. Seems like the paper that brought down Nixon is now just one more whore on the beltway selling access to the power.
“Washington Post publisher Katharine Weymouth said today she was canceling plans for an exclusive "salon" at her home where for as much as $250,000, the Post offered lobbyists and association executives off-the-record access to "those powerful few" – Obama administration officials, members of Congress, and even the paper’s own reporters and editors.”
Maybe the print media really does deserve to go broke.
And at the head of this Sunday night moan, I paraphrased Bob Dylan, (with an image from Valerie) and thus it only seems fair to post a link to a cool version of the mutilated song. Click here.

To the powers that be,
ReplyDeletePlease don't kill me. I promise I'm not going to do anything bad. I'm not even on about anything like that, I swear it, I mean, just, please don't kill me.
All I want is to fuck my girl & toke... play games & make music... eat tastey food & sleep some place comfortable... that's the American dream. So please, don't kill me.
Help Spores get my foot in the door of that industry we're always talking about & I'll fade the fuck out & never pay no mind to nothing again, promise. I'll be set, if I have that dream, all is well by me.
Please
"They got some hungry creatures there
ReplyDeleteand they'll really make a mess out of youuuu"
Herr Krauthammer is clearly advertising/working for the Obama cause.
I mean, it should be pretty obvious by now that Obama is doing exactly the opposite of that.
I guess that at this point, the only way to make Obama look good is through this kind of hysterical unrealistic criticism from the far-right.
I'm getting a bit tired of all this fucking sand in my eyes.
"even their reporters" wow!
ReplyDeleteI do not recall anyone being called a leveler in my lifetime. I am so unused to seeing the word I had to check the spelling. Your President has not pissed me off yet; my gal still thinks he's going get shit done; and he has not yet dreamed up a new country to turn into an ashtray; so here's hoping Krauthammer is onto something and not on something.
ReplyDeleteI only wish 10% of this opium den dream was true. But the Operation Paperclipped-named Krauthammer (Heil!) and I (and you, right?) all know the real truth. We all know Obama cashes the very same paycheck with the very same name at the top of his stub as that of said Washington Post writer. And they both serve the same masters.
ReplyDeleteThe vast majority of Americans would actually benefit from Krauthammer's "Obama Scenario." But there’s a major problem here. Krauthammer knows this isn’t Obama’s true agenda. Obama’s a corporatist. Like Bush or Clinton or Reagan. And Krauthammer's ravings are blatant pre-programmed partisan hysteria aimed to agitate the masses.
Per the always astute Mark H., "Krauthammer is clearly advertising/working for the Obama cause." Which is totally true in a sorta roundabout way. Both Obama and Krauthammer will continue their march to divide the people while carrying out the will of the secret chiefs who wish to bring about a corporate golden dawn over us all.
Then after “each side” (ho, ho...two jokes in one...) play-fights across the corporate-controlled media, their joint final message will be packaged to tell us how each party has their own flaccid reasons why the progressive plans failed.
The best we can do is to start ignoring these court jesters. They’re vampires living off our attention. They mean nothing to our daily lives. So let ‘em starve.
We need to stop giving our money to major corporations. Cancel our cable. Stop buying mainstream media news. Get our food at farmer's markets. Ride a bike when we can. Never buy anything made overseas. Never buy on the internet and keep all our ducats local in our communities.
Kick the moneychangers out of our government and let the corporations tumble and perish, their warehouses full of rotten goods. That's the only way we'll ever see "change." We have to remember that we are the majority. Not them.
We have the power to starve the Leviathan.
We are the Counterculture.
How did the world get so totally fucked up that _anything_ in that rant could be construed as negative by anyone?
ReplyDeleteIt's so surreal, it's almost like a scene from South Park. "And he's going to make society fairer!" "Yeah!" "Yeah, kill the bastard!"
We also need to take back the technology. The internet does not belong to Time Warner even thought they send out the bills. Revolution by all means, but not to become a isolationist ludite. The workers in Beijing and Bangalore are also our brothers and sisters.
ReplyDelete"Hell Yeah!" to those last two posts!
