THE TESLA COIL ATE MY BRAIN
Which is actually a lame excuse for being, with LA in the nineties, too burned to even think let alone come up with a witty, thought provoking, revolutionary blog entry.
Yeah, after a summer of hideous heat the body & mind are too fried to keep on keepin' on. After Max Roach, I was curious to see how many jazzbos of that era were still w/ us, so I looked up Ornette Coleman. Wikipedia sez he's 77, & collapsed from heat stroke @ Bonnaroo (stupid hippies) in June of this year. Apparently alright now, but not a good sign. And Pharoah Sanders was @ the Catalina last week or something, all white-haired & bearded in the L. A. Times write up. Not too many of even those cats of our yout' left.
strange. the end of the summer seems to be the time when most of the good ones go.
